The City of Cape Town is thrilled to announce that the Mother City has been nominated in multiple categories of the prestigious World Travel Awards. Cape Town has been recognised in the following categories: Africa’s Leading Beach Destination, Africa’s Leading Business Travel Destination, Africa’s Leading City Destination, Africa’s Leading Festival & Event Destination, and Africa’s Leading Meetings & Conference Destination.

James Vos, the City of Cape Town’s Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Growth and Tourism, expressed his excitement, saying, “These nominations are a testament to our strategic campaigns that highlight Cape Town’s incredible products, places, and people. Our programmes aimed at connecting Cape Town with more key source markets have led to an increase in direct flights, more cruise liners docking at our port, and the successful hosting of numerous conferences and exhibitions. These efforts are generating significant economic benefits for our local industry.”

Vos added, “I believe these nominations are a testimony that our work is being seen and appreciated on a global scale. It shows that our efforts to promote Cape Town are paying off.”
